Job portals from official institutions

Bundesagentur für Arbeit: The “Jobbörse” of the Federal Employment Agency is the largest official portal for job search in Germany.

“Make it in Germany”: The job portal of “Make it in Germany” includes current vacancies in shortage occupations and information on the sectors in which skilled workers are being sought.

EURES: The European Job Mobility Portal offers jobs from 31 European countries – including Germany.

Stellenwerk: The “Stellenwerk” is a collaboration between the universities of Hamburg and provides not only summer jobs, but also job opportunities for graduates.

Private job portals

A variety of private job portals can be found by entering the terms "Jobbörse" (job market)  and "Stellenangebote" (job offers) in a search engine.

ZAV- Zentrale Auslands- und Fachvermittlung” (International Placement Services)
They offer a consulting service in English language for foreign job seekers – (also for foreigners who do not live in Hamburg).

Services offered by “Make it in Hamburg!”

“Make it in Hamburg” is an institution of Hamburg Welcome Center and helps various target groups to integrate into the labour market. The “Make it in Hamburg!” concept includes support in looking for a job, for making contacts with employers in Hamburg, and on career issues. It also offers supplementary training courses.

Newspapers

Scroll through German newspapers. Many companies publish their job listings, both in regional and in national newspapers („Hamburger Abendblatt“, „Süddeutsche Zeitung“, „Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung“, „Die Zeit“ etc.).
