    The services of the company founding centre are directed at people interested in self-employment and setting up their own business in Hamburg (except a handicraft business). For the free initial consultation there is no appointment necessary. Amongst other things, you will receive a starter kit containing plenty of useful information leaflets.

The HWF Hamburg Business Development Corporation is the central partner of Hamburg’s whole economy. The Hamburg District Offices’ “Zentren für Wirtschaftsförderung, Bauen und Umwelt (WBZ) – Centres for Business Development, Building and Environment” are the local central points of contact for almost all administrative formalities which entrepreneurs have to complete. They advise you in all aspects of business development and provide services for all related application and permit procedures across the disciplines. Depending on your needs, the service team handles your application immediately, arranges a separate appointment or points you in the right direction.


hei. Hamburger ExistenzgründungsInitiative

The “hei. Hamburger ExistenzgründungsInitiative” (Hamburg Business Start-up Initiative) offers free initial personal counselling for people interested in founding  and young entrepreneurs. The initiative also establishes contacts to persons and institutions from the Hamburg founder network.

„Self-employment can be learned“ – that is the claim of the publicly funded coaching programme offering seminars and courses for founders and start-ups. The application for this programme may be downloaded on the website or picked up in person at the hei. office. In order to arrange a personal counselling, please call, or visit the website.

Federal Employment Agency Hamburg

Unemployed persons receive information on business founding and the start-up grant (“Gründungszuschuss”) at the Federal Employment Agency Hamburg. For more thorough information and assistance with any next steps involved, the agency provides contacts to appropriate chambers, associations or start-up centres. Social Impact Lab Hamburg

The Social Impact Lab Hamburg offers start-up consultancy for young people up to the age of 30 who are unemployed or threatened by unemployment. If you want to create your own business in the Metropolitan Region of Hamburg, their support within the project “Jungstarter” is free of charge.
