In Germany, all pupils start school by attending primary school for four years. Afterwards, parents may choose a secondary school type for their children.
Children and adolescents who cannot yet understand the regular classes due to a lack of German language skills will first receive intensive German lessons.
In Hamburg, your child has the opportunity to attend bilingual classes. In bilingual classes pupils are taught in two languages from their first day at school onwards.
